A/C & Refrigeration Technician

About the role

Le Méridien is hiring a full-time A/C and refrigeration technician in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates, to handle guest repair requests and general hotel maintenance. The role covers air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing and related equipment, and requires a driver's license.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve guest repair requests, communicating clearly with guests and customers.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication, and visually inspect tools, equipment and machines.
• Identify, locate and operate shut-off valves and utility shut-offs, and use the Lockout/Tagout system before any maintenance work.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts and supplies, and communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts.
• Test, troubleshoot and repair equipment, plumbing (plunge toilets, unclog drains), electrical components, lamps, switches and outlets, and guestroom items.
• Replace A/C filters, paint, do minor drywall and wood trim repair, and clean up work areas thoroughly.
• Program TVs, perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties, and perform landscaping and sprinkler repairs.
• Enter air handler schedules and make temperature changes on a computer, and follow safety, security and company policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
• Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation and painting; hotel engineering or maintenance experience is a plus.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Driver's license required.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation and building systems.
• Basic computer skills, including inputting air handler schedules and changing temperatures.
