Academic Applications Lead (Open to All Nationalities)

About the role

The Academic Applications Lead provides strategic leadership for all student‑facing systems at Ajman University. Reporting to senior management, the role oversees implementation, integration, and performance of the Banner SIS and related academic applications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead change‑management initiatives for major system upgrades, migrations and process improvements.
• Manage vendor relationships for academic application providers and ensure optimal value.
• Develop and execute a strategic roadmap aligned with the university’s digital transformation goals.
• Coordinate project scope, system goals and requirements with internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain, analyze and prioritize requirement specifications, data mapping and workflow processes.
• Oversee implementation and integration of the LMS with Banner SIS, and supervise system upgrades.
• Provide troubleshooting and support for all core Banner modules and related academic applications.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large‑scale academic or student information system projects.
• Strong understanding of higher‑education processes such as registration, advising and student services.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.

Required skills

• Banner Student Information System (SIS) and Banner Student Admin Oracle platform.
• SQL and PL/SQL.
• JavaScript.
• Reporting tools.
• CRM advising solutions and mobile applications.
• SaaS cloud solutions.
