Accountant – Aviation Finance

About the role

The Accountant will ensure timely and accurate processing, reconciliation, and payment of supplier invoices and staff expenses for a cargo aviation business. The role supports operational efficiency, cash‑flow management, and compliance with financial controls and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Verify and process supplier invoices, performing three‑way matching where required.
• Code invoices to the correct general‑ledger accounts and reconcile supplier statements.
• Maintain vendor master data in the ERP system and respond to supplier queries.
• Identify and record pre‑payments and fixed assets, reviewing monthly P&L impact.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities and assist with audit preparation.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, IATA standards, VAT, and withholding tax regulations.
• Identify and implement process improvements, including automation of invoice workflows.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of finance experience in the aviation industry.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Navision).
• Strong understanding of VAT and IFRS accounting principles.
