Accountant – Finance Shared Services

About the role

NMC Group Services is hiring an Accountant for its Dubai branch to support the Finance Shared Services department. The role covers the accurate and timely processing, recording and reporting of financial transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, internal controls and organisational policies. It spans accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, reconciliations and month-end and year-end closing in a multi-entity healthcare environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and record journal entries in the general ledger based on daily transactions and supporting documentation.
• Assist in preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports.
• Reconcile bank accounts, vendor statements, intercompany balances and general ledger accounts regularly.
• Maintain accurate accounts payable and receivable records and process invoices, staff claims, supplier payments and petty cash in line with approval workflows.
• Support month-end and year-end closing, including accruals, prepayments and depreciation calculations.
• Gather information from internal departments for financial reporting and variance analysis, and support internal and external audits.
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and assist with VAT returns; support fixed asset accounting and process standardisation.
• Maintain data integrity in the ERP system and perform additional finance tasks assigned by the line manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
• 4+ years of experience in a similar accounting role, preferably in shared services or healthcare in the UAE.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work accurately under pressure.
• Familiarity with shared services or multi-entity accounting environments.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards and practices.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics) and MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
• Knowledge of UAE VAT and financial regulations.
• Preferred: general ledger, AP/AR, month-end closing, financial reporting, VAT compliance, account reconciliation, fixed assets, intercompany transactions and financial audits.
