Accountant – UAE

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Accountant to join our UAE team. The successful candidate will manage end‑to‑end accounting operations, ensure compliance with UAE VAT and corporate tax regulations, and support accurate financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full‑cycle accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, journal entries, accruals and pre‑payments.
• Execute month‑end close and prepare financial statements, P&L, balance sheet and cash‑flow reports.
• Apply revenue recognition for prepaid memberships, packages and subscriptions.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and reconcile membership system reports (collections, refunds, discounts, outstanding balances).
• Maintain fixed‑asset register and subsidiary ledgers for stock and consumables.
• Process UAE payroll and WPS, perform salary reconciliations and prepare WPS files.
• Ensure accurate VAT accounting, support VAT returns and corporate tax compliance.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain records in Zoho or a similar ERP system.
• Prepare schedules and documentation for internal/external auditors.
• Perform financial analysis and reconciliations using advanced Excel functions.
• Communicate effectively with management, auditors, banks, customers and vendors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the UAE.
• Experience in high‑volume membership or subscription businesses (gym, hospitality) is an advantage.
• Accurate, organized, analytical and deadline‑driven with the ability to work independently.

• Advanced Excel (Pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS).
