Accountant – VAT & Corporate Tax Specialist (UAE)

About the role
We are looking for a detail‑oriented Accountant with solid UAE experience in VAT and corporate tax compliance. The role will support accurate financial management, regulatory compliance and efficient billing and payment processes across the organisation.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and the general ledger, in line with company policies and UAE accounting standards.
- Prepare and issue client invoices accurately and on time, ensuring they match contractual terms, approved timesheets and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with project managers and internal teams to verify billable work, supporting documentation and cost allocations before invoicing.
- Monitor outstanding invoices, follow up with clients proactively and keep proper documentation of payment communications.
- Track incoming and outgoing payments, monitor cash flow and report potential cash‑flow issues to management.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and corporate tax filings in accordance with UAE regulations, including reconciliation of VAT‑related transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports to support budgeting, analysis and management reporting.
- Ensure accurate payroll processing and manage employee reimbursements in line with policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing financial schedules, documentation and explanations.
- Maintain organized financial and administrative records and coordinate with vendors regarding invoices, payments and documentation.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- 2‑3 years of UAE experience in VAT return filing and corporate tax preparation.
- Strong knowledge of UAE tax regulations and financial compliance requirements.
- High level of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality when handling financial information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Required skills
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational and multitasking abilities.
