Accounting & Operations Vice President (Emiratization Project)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounting & Operations Vice President to lead accounting activities, banking operations and financial controls for a leading international banking group in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on accuracy, efficiency and regulatory compliance within a highly regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records, support preparation of financial statements and local regulatory reports, and contribute to month‑end and year‑end closing.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable processing, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to internal procedures.
• Execute banking transactions such as remittances, loans, deposits, trade finance and treasury operations.
• Perform account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and uphold data integrity.
• Ensure compliance with banking regulations, internal policies and control frameworks.
• Identify operational risks, support risk assessments and implement mitigation measures.
• Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy and consistency.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience in accounting, financial operations or banking operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail.
• Proactive, collaborative approach with excellent communication skills and a commitment to confidentiality.

Required skills

• Sound knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls and banking processes.
• Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with banking transactions, reconciliations and financial reporting requirements.
