Adjunct Faculty – CIS

About the role

The Higher Colleges of Technology seeks an Adjunct Faculty member to teach Computer Information Systems (CIS) courses to second‑language learners in Dubai. This temporary position involves delivering undergraduate instruction, supervising capstone projects and work‑experience components, and contributing to a student‑centric learning environment that respects cultural diversity.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver effective instruction for assigned CIS subjects, covering regular, senior‑level and capstone courses.
• Mentor students during projects and work‑experience placements, providing feedback and guidance.
• Participate actively in academic and extra‑curricular events, community outreach, and applied research activities.
• Collaborate with the Program Coordinator to develop and update curriculum materials.
• Maintain a teaching load not exceeding nine (9) credits per semester and adhere to the scheduled work hours (Monday‑Friday, 8 AM‑8 PM).

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline or a Bachelor’s degree combined with extensive industry experience and professional certification.
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant industry experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to teach in a multicultural environment and engage second‑language learners.
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Cisco, Microsoft, CompTIA) are a plus.
