Adjunct Faculty - English

About the role

Sharjah Maritime Academy is looking for an Adjunct Faculty member in English. The position is part-time and focuses on teaching English language programmes to students with diverse proficiency levels.

Required profile

• Masters degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, English Language Teaching, English or a closely related discipline; a PhD in a related field is preferred.
• At least three years of English language teaching experience.
• Experience teaching Foundation English, intensive English, English for Academic Purposes (EAP) or similar programmes.
• Experience delivering CEFR-aligned instruction and supporting learners with different English proficiency levels.
• Experience in curriculum and syllabus development, assessment design, moderation and English language assessment.
• Experience preparing students for exams such as Cambridge English Qualifications, IELTS or TOEFL is highly desirable.
• Experience using Learning Management Systems and technology-enhanced teaching, and teaching in multicultural settings.

Required skills

• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Strong classroom management and ability to teach students with diverse proficiency levels.
• Sound knowledge of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).
• Ability to develop measurable learning outcomes.
• Effective use of educational technology and digital learning platforms.
