AFC Systems & Reporting Specialist – Metro & Tram

About the role

The AFC Systems & Reporting Specialist is responsible for daily AFC system activities and reporting for Metro, Tram and AFC Test Laboratories in Al Qusais and RTA Headquarters. The role ensures system health, performs monitoring, troubleshooting and maintains accurate reports for RTA and Keolis‑MHI management.

Key responsibilities

• Publish daily, weekly and monthly AFC reports to RTA and Keolis‑MHI Dubai Metro Management.
• Monitor network status, connections, disk space, AFC packages and functionality of Level 3 servers, workstations and AFC equipment.
• Conduct proactive health checks, perform system administration tasks and ensure preventive maintenance of PTAs in test laboratories.
• Cross‑check AFC network interconnections with the Level 4 Central Clearing House, handling security and troubleshooting.
• Upload latest Equipment Operating Data from Level 4 to all AFC equipment and verify version compliance.
• Log faults in Maximo, coordinate with RTA and AFC maintenance teams, and manage operator access control for AFC devices.
• Perform routine hardware maintenance such as backup tape changes and RAID drive replacements.
• Investigate customer complaints, provide recommendations, and support software deployment processes.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently on rotating shifts.
• Proactive decision‑making in coordination with the AFC Systems Manager.
• Selected and trained specifically for AFC system operations.

Required skills

• Network monitoring and system administration.
• RAID management and backup/restore procedures.
• Experience with Maximo (CMMS) for fault logging.
• Software deployment and testing coordination.
• Operator access control administration for AFC equipment.
