AI Engineering Lead

About the role

We are partnering with a leading UAE institution that is building a digital‑first, AI‑enabled financial services organization from the ground up. As the AI Engineering Lead you will shape the technology, data and AI foundations of this ambitious, institutionally backed bank.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and operate the enterprise AI platform, including model serving, registries, AI gateways and MLOps/LLMOps capabilities.
• Develop and manage services for AI agents, orchestration, tool integration, agent governance and human‑in‑the‑loop controls.
• Establish evaluation frameworks, guardrails, monitoring and testing processes for models and AI agents.
• Deliver production‑grade Generative AI and Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions, including retrieval pipelines, vector databases and LLM integrations.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, Compliance and Product teams to ensure trusted, compliant AI solutions.
• Build, mentor and lead a high‑performing AI Engineering team and promote AI‑native development practices.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in AI Engineering, Machine Learning Engineering or MLOps, with proven leadership responsibilities.
• Hands‑on production experience deploying machine learning models, large language models and agentic systems at scale.
• Background in banking, financial services, fintech or other highly regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of AI governance, explainability, monitoring, model risk and responsible AI.
