Android Engineer (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose)

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Android Engineer to join Thales in Dubai, focusing on building high‑quality mobile applications using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose and Kotlin Multiplatform. You will work on map‑based features and contribute to robust, scalable solutions for our defence and security customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Android applications using Kotlin.
• Build and optimise map‑based features such as location tracking, routing, markers and geofencing.
• Apply Clean Architecture principles to ensure scalable, maintainable and testable code.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and backend teams to define and implement features.
• Write clean, reusable and well‑documented code.
• Identify and fix bugs, performance bottlenecks and memory leaks.
• Ensure application performance, quality and responsiveness.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 + years of experience in Android application development.
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong understanding of Clean Architecture and modern Android development practices.
