Anesthesia Specialist

About the role

The Anesthesia Specialist provides high-quality peri‑operative anesthesia care for surgical, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive pre‑anesthetic evaluations and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer general, regional, local and monitored anesthesia care according to clinical privileges.
• Monitor patients intra‑operatively, manage airways, hemodynamics and address peri‑operative complications.
• Provide post‑anesthesia care, pain management and participate in emergency response activities.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nursing, intensivists and allied health professionals.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and support quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• MBBS, MBChB or equivalent medical degree.
• Recognised specialty qualification in Anesthesiology and at least 2 years post‑qualification experience.
• DOH licence or eligibility as Specialist Anesthesia.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; PALS preferred.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – preferred
• Proficiency in administering general, regional and monitored anesthesia
• Airway management and hemodynamic monitoring
