Area Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Area Financial Controller to join our Arabian Gulf Finance & Accounting Team in Dubai. The role partners with business leaders across multiple countries, ensuring financial integrity, compliance, and insightful performance analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual financial closings for all assigned countries, ensuring compliance with IFRS and Group policies.
• Prepare and review P&L, balance sheet, cash flow statements, and conduct variance analysis with management commentary.
• Manage cash flow, liquidity and cash repatriation processes, and monitor overdue receivables.
• Coordinate statutory accounts preparation, external audits and internal audit remediation.
• Supervise local tax compliance, including corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax and transfer pricing documentation.
• Conduct periodic reviews of local processes, identify control gaps and implement remediation.
• Provide coaching and guidance to country finance teams and act as the primary contact for finance-related queries.

Required profile

• 10+ years of finance or accounting experience, preferably in shipping or maritime.
• Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA, CA, ACCA or CMA preferred.
• Strong analytical, statistical and data‑quality skills.
• Self‑directed with excellent written and spoken English.
