Asset Accountant – Fixed Assets Specialist

About the role

The Asset Accountant will manage the fixed‑asset register for a leading food manufacturing company in Dubai. You will ensure accurate recording, depreciation, and reporting of all tangible assets while supporting audit and compliance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the fixed‑asset register, recording acquisitions, transfers, disposals, retirements and write‑offs.
• Calculate and post monthly depreciation in line with company policy and IFRS/GAAP.
• Reconcile fixed‑asset accounts with the general ledger each month.
• Capitalize projects, classify CAPEX correctly and review supporting invoices.
• Conduct periodic physical verification of assets and investigate any discrepancies.
• Prepare asset schedules for monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
• Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and reconciliations.
• Monitor construction‑in‑progress (CIP) accounts and assist with budgeting, forecasting and CAPEX reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in fixed‑asset accounting or general accounting.
• Professional qualification (CA, ACCA, CPA, CMA) is an advantage.
• Good understanding of IFRS or GAAP and strong analytical abilities.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics (1C preferred).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of depreciation methods and CAPEX accounting.

• Budget AED 5,000‑5,500 per month (based on experience).
