Assistant / Associate / Full Professor – Medical Education

About the role

The United Arab Emirates University seeks qualified candidates for a faculty position in the Department of Medical Education. Applicants will be considered at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor based on their academic achievements.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Department Chair to enhance teaching and student assessment through faculty development programs.
• Liaise with Program Directors, Course Coordinators, and faculty to develop an outcome‑based medical education curriculum.
• Interpret specialty training requirements and promote the use of clinical simulation facilities.
• Provide strategic input to the Dean, Vice Dean, and Program Directors on current and future medical education initiatives.
• Lead special projects related to postgraduate education and support accreditation processes.
• Develop policies and procedures for effective curriculum management and supervise curriculum delivery.
• Ensure optimal learning resources, including libraries, teaching labs, simulation centers, and electronic teaching tools.
• Contribute to faculty teaching evaluation and the integration of simulation‑based activities with clinical placements.
• Oversee clinical skills examinations (OSCEs) and prepare annual reports on medical education activities.

Required profile

• PhD in Medical Education and a Master’s degree in Education or Medical Education.
• Preferably an MBBS/MD degree in addition to the PhD.
• Experience with problem‑based or team‑based learning approaches.
• Demonstrated involvement in research with a solid publication record.
• Innovative mindset and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
