Assistant Buyer

About the role

The Assistant Buyer supports the buying function by helping develop and execute commercially successful assortments that align with brand strategy, customer needs, and business objectives. Working closely with merchandising, retail, marketing, visual merchandising, logistics and brand partners, the role ensures the right products are available at the right time and in the right quantities.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Buyer in seasonal assortment planning, preparing range plans, line sheets and buying presentations.
• Monitor weekly sales performance, stock levels and sell‑through rates, providing analysis and recommendations for in‑season trading decisions.
• Manage critical‑path timelines for product launches, coordinating with suppliers, logistics and internal teams to resolve delivery issues.
• Collaborate with merchandising, allocation, retail, marketing and visual merchandising teams to ensure alignment and provide product information to stores.
• Conduct market and competitor research to identify trends, opportunities and product gaps.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Fashion Management, Retail Management, Merchandising or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in buying, merchandising, allocation or retail analysis, preferably within fashion, lifestyle or sportswear.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to interpret sales data into actionable insights.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems and retail reporting tools.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
