Assistant Chief Engineer

About the role

The Assistant Chief Engineer supports the engineering team at a leading hotel in Sharjah, ensuring all mechanical and electrical systems operate safely and efficiently. This full‑time position combines hands‑on maintenance, preventive programs, and guest service responsibilities within a dynamic hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and perform preventative maintenance on tools, appliances, and equipment.
• Calibrate controls, gauges, meters and operate shut‑off valves.
• Order, label, stock parts and maintain inventory and purchase order logs.
• Conduct fire‑pump, generator, sprinkler valve, and alarm system tests.
• Assist in developing disaster response protocols and respond to guest repair requests.
• Support management with hiring, training, scheduling, and employee coaching.
• Follow all safety, security, and company policies, reporting hazards and completing required certifications.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lb, reaching overhead, and navigating stairs.

Required profile

• Minimum 24 months of relevant engineering or facilities experience.
• Ability to work on‑site in a hotel environment and interact professionally with guests and staff.
• Physical capability to perform manual handling, climbing, and prolonged standing.
• Commitment to safety, quality standards, and continuous improvement.
