Assistant Design Manager

About the role

The Assistant Design Manager supports the Senior Design Manager in delivering multi‑disciplinary infrastructure projects for AECOM in Abu Dhabi. This role ensures that design inputs from civil, structural, MEP, landscape and other disciplines are coordinated, integrated and aligned with client requirements and project timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate design activities across civil, structural, MEP, landscape and related disciplines.
• Track design submissions, review processes and ensure compliance with design programmes.
• Manage client, authority and stakeholder comments, logging and closing them promptly.
• Organise and document design coordination meetings, workshops and technical reviews.
• Issue and manage RFIs and design clarifications.
• Collaborate with BIM teams to resolve clashes and ensure integrated models.
• Maintain design documentation, registers and correspondence using information‑management platforms.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure design within the Middle East.
• Familiarity with local authority requirements and regulatory processes.
• Strong coordination and communication abilities.
