Assistant Director of Finance

About the role

The Assistant Director of Finance will join the Finance department of Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai, supporting the Director of Finance in overseeing all financial activities of the hotel. This senior position is responsible for day‑to‑day accounting, leading the finance team, and ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise finance & accounting functions, including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, income audit, materials management and cost control.
• Prepare and deliver financial statements, balance‑sheet reconciliations, budgets, forecasts, management reports and month‑end close.
• Maintain strong financial governance through internal controls, cash‑flow management, audit coordination, policy compliance and asset/inventory valuation.
• Ensure compliance with legal, tax, licensing and corporate requirements.
• Provide financial analysis and leadership to hotel operations, identifying risks, opportunities and supporting corrective action plans.
• Represent the Director of Finance in his absence and act as his delegate when required.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing finance and accounting functions, preferably within hospitality.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop finance teams.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and internal controls.
• Experience coordinating audits and ensuring regulatory compliance.
