Assistant Director of Nursing – Oncology

About the role

A growing Cancer Center in Dubai, supported by international partners from the US and UK, is looking for an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing – Oncology. The role provides clinical leadership across oncology nursing services and supports the nursing leadership team in delivering high standards of patient care, nursing practice, staff development, quality and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Director of Nursing in planning, implementing and making oncology nursing services operationally ready.
• Lead, supervise and develop oncology nursing teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
• Help develop nursing policies, procedures, clinical pathways and standards, and ensure compliance with clinical, regulatory and patient safety requirements.
• Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals and multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated oncology care.
• Support staff education, competency development, mentoring and professional growth.
• Monitor nursing quality indicators, patient outcomes and performance improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to evidence-based oncology nursing practices and improve chemotherapy, infusion, hematology and other specialized services.
• Assist with service development, workforce planning and operational improvement, and promote a patient-centered nursing culture.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Nursing.
• 7-8 years of overall nursing experience, with significant oncology experience.
• Previous leadership or management experience (Nurse Manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, Clinical Leadership).
• Experience managing nursing teams in a hospital or cancer-care setting; experience in chemotherapy, infusion or hematology is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated experience in quality improvement, clinical governance and evidence-based practice.
• Strong communication, leadership, mentoring and collaboration skills.
• Preferred: experience in a major hospital, academic medical center, cancer center or internationally accredited organization.
• Willingness to relocate to the UAE.
