Assistant Facilities Manager (RAK)

About the role

The Assistant Facilities Manager supports the Associate Director in delivering safe, reliable and cost‑effective facility services across the property. The role oversees daily operations, maintenance, and project delivery to ensure the building’s MEP systems and assets perform optimally.

Key responsibilities

• Report daily to the Associate Director on operational outcomes and performance.
• Manage all building facilities operation and maintenance activities, including preventive‑maintenance schedules.
• Design and supervise auxiliary building and fit‑out projects that support business growth.
• Develop and implement asset‑management strategies to maintain reliability of systems, equipment and properties.
• Oversee contracts, procurement, budgeting and financial reporting for facility services.
• Negotiate, hire and monitor subcontractors, ensuring compliance with KPIs and service‑level agreements.
• Coordinate with suppliers, engineers and contractors for equipment operation and maintenance.
• Prepare and present regular reports on budgets, expenditures, contracts and incident logs.
• Conduct site supervision, risk assessments and ensure adherence to health‑and‑safety standards.
• Plan, schedule and review MEP system upgrades, installations and maintenance activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in facilities or building management, preferably within a multi‑site environment.
• Strong understanding of MEP systems and preventive‑maintenance programmes.
• Experience managing contracts, budgets and procurement processes.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal clients, external vendors and senior management.
• Demonstrated capability to lead on‑site teams and supervise subcontractors.
