About the role
The Assistant Manager, Sanctions will act as the final escalation point for sanctions alerts within Commercial Bank of Dubai. The role focuses on reviewing, discounting, and resolving alerts while ensuring compliance with international sanctions regimes and fostering a strong compliance culture.
Key responsibilities
- Independently review sanctions alerts according to CBD’s discounting procedures as the final escalation point.
- Lead process review and enhancement for referral, escalation, and resolution of sanctions alerts.
- Advise business units on compliance with international sanctions regimes and associated risks.
- Mitigate sanctions compliance risks and maintain relationships with regulators and correspondent banks.
- Investigate and act on correspondent bank queries.
- Review dual‑use goods alerts and export control restrictions in coordination with Trade Operations.
- Maintain red‑flags records and coordinate closely with Compliance and Operations teams.
Required profile
- UAE National.
- Minimum 60 months (5 years) of relevant experience in sanctions compliance or related banking functions.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities in a time‑sensitive environment.
