Assistant Nurse (DOH Licensed)

About the role

The Assistant Nurse/Midwife supports the Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife in delivering patient‑centered care within a hospital setting in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily living activities, including meal distribution and hygiene support, according to the care plan.
• Monitor and record vital signs, report changes in patient condition promptly, and document care accurately.
• Respond to emergencies following organisational policies and perform Basic Life Support as required.
• Facilitate post‑discharge clinic visits, schedule follow‑up appointments, and arrange patient transportation.
• Maintain flow of documents for scanning and support electronic medical record documentation.

Required profile

• Valid DOH licence to work as an assistant nurse/assistant midwife and ability to manage professional re‑licensure.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card.
• Fluent written and spoken English; Arabic communication is desirable.
• Willingness to work across departments when needed.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
• Use of electronic medical record platforms for clinical documentation.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (and optionally Arabic).
