Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology

About the role

The College of Health Sciences at Abu Dhabi University is looking for an Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology for a full-time faculty position. The appointment starts on 10 August 2025. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses, contribute to research within the university and abroad, and supervise students in their practicum.

Key responsibilities

• Teach graduate and undergraduate courses such as Abnormal Psychology, Clinical Assessment, Psychopathology, Counseling Techniques and Psychotherapy
• Conduct research and scholarly work in clinical psychology, mental health, psychotherapy or psychological assessment
• Publish in peer-reviewed journals and advise, mentor and supervise graduate and undergraduate students
• Design experiential learning activities such as clinical simulations, role-plays and supervised practice
• Help develop and review curricula and practicum components, and support student learning outcomes
• Support community awareness of mental health through outreach and seminars, and take part in departmental and university service

Required profile

• PhD in Clinical Psychology from an internationally accredited university, preferably among the top 200 by QS World University Rankings 2022
• Expertise in clinical psychology and mental health, including clinical assessments, diagnosis and interventions
• Record of successful teaching at postgraduate or undergraduate level
• Clinical psychologist licence (DOH/DHA/HCPC UK/US or eligibility to apply) and proven record of teaching, programme planning and problem solving
• Peer-reviewed publications and strong communication skills
