Assistant Resident Engineer – Electrical (33/11 kV Substations)

About the role

WSP Middle East is looking for a dynamic Assistant Resident Engineer – Electrical to support and oversee electrical engineering projects within the ADDC/AADC domain. The role ensures projects are delivered to specification, on schedule and within budget while upholding the highest quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Resident Engineer in overseeing electrical engineering activities across multiple UAE projects.
• Review and resolve on‑site technical issues, delivering practical engineering solutions.
• Check contractor submissions, shop drawings, method statements and documentation for compliance with QA procedures and standards.
• Coordinate site inspections, monitor construction progress and guide site supervision staff.
• Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are implemented on all site activities.
• Monitor contractor performance and workmanship, verifying installations meet approved drawings, specifications and local regulations.
• Prepare progress reports, technical assessments and other project documentation for stakeholders.
• Participate in meetings with clients, contractors, authorities and internal teams, providing technical input and follow‑up.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s degree advantageous).
• Proven experience as an Assistant Resident Engineer, Electrical Engineer or Site Electrical Engineer on large infrastructure or utilities projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, construction methodologies and site supervision practices.
• Familiarity with UAE authority requirements and international construction codes.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
