Assistant Resident Engineer

About the role

The Assistant Resident Engineer supports the Resident Engineer in overseeing construction activities for airport‑related projects in Sharjah. This role ensures that works are executed in line with contract documents, approved drawings, specifications and applicable authority requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and supervise construction works according to the contract, approved drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary site supervision activities and monitor contractor performance.
• Maintain accurate contemporaneous records and identify technical and contractual risks.
• Prepare documented recommendations and reports for the Resident Engineer.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 12 years of post‑graduate construction and engineering experience.
• Minimum 5 years in site supervision, including experience as an Assistant Resident Engineer or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of direct experience on airport construction, expansion, rehabilitation or operational projects.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of FIDIC‑based construction contracts.
• Experience with multidisciplinary construction coordination.
• Familiarity with testing, commissioning, handover and project close‑out processes.
• Proficiency in BIM coordination platforms, common data environments and electronic document control systems.
• Use of project planning software.
