Assistant Resident Engineer

About the role

The Assistant Resident Engineer will support the Resident Engineer in planning, monitoring and controlling construction activities for high‑voltage substations and cable projects in Abu Dhabi. This role ensures engineering records are accurate, quality standards are met, and project progress aligns with client specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update project engineering records and weekly progress reports.
• Coordinate permits and NOCs required for site execution.
• Conduct site inspections, review shop drawings and ensure compliance with UAE Building Code and safety regulations.
• Monitor work schedules, recommend mitigation measures and track compliance with design specifications.
• Supervise documentation of all construction activities and support the preparation of technical change proposals.
• Collaborate with management to align construction activities with business outcomes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering, construction or industrial buildings.
• 12‑15 years of experience in 132kV/400kV substation construction, HV/EHV cable laying, and ADNOC/TRANSCO projects.
• Proven experience as a construction supervision consultant.
• Strong knowledge of UAE construction codes, safety standards and material specifications.
