Assistant Resident Engineer – Landscape

About the role

Parsons is seeking an experienced Assistant Resident Engineer – Landscape to support senior staff on a major infrastructure project in Abu Dhabi. You will oversee landscape works, coordinate inspections, and ensure smooth handover of assets while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide support to senior staff on all landscape‑related issues.
• Supervise and coordinate inspectors to monitor contractor performance.
• Attend weekly/monthly meetings focusing on landscape and HSSE matters.
• Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure smooth handover of landscape assets.
• Contribute landscape input to regular progress reports.
• Review contractor documents promptly and flag potential delays.
• Participate in site safety training and enforce safety protocols.
• Issue on‑site directions for landscaping, irrigation, and related items.
• Measure and record work progress against the programme.
• Validate completeness of as‑built drawings.
• Guide and monitor inspectors and surveyors as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• At least ten years of landscape supervision experience on major infrastructure projects.
• Minimum five years of experience in the UAE, preferably Abu Dhabi.
• Strong knowledge of current landscape practices and horticultural techniques for large‑scale Gulf projects.
• Proven ability to perform in a site‑supervision role.
• Computer literacy for data handling, record‑keeping, and reporting.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken, with solid technical writing skills.
