Assistant Resident Engineer (Site)

About the role

Egis Group is looking for a detail‑oriented Assistant Resident Engineer to join its Abu Dhabi team. You will work closely with the Resident Engineer to supervise construction activities, ensure compliance with specifications, and uphold quality, safety and technical standards on site.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily construction activities, including enabling works and structural works, ensuring adherence to approved drawings, specifications and method statements.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality, progress, safety and regulatory compliance.
• Review technical drawings, shop drawings, method statements and construction methodologies.
• Monitor critical works such as shoring, dewatering, waterproofing, post‑tensioned slabs, façade works and structural works.
• Coordinate activities among contractors, subcontractors, consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
• Maintain site documentation, including inspection records, progress reports, photographic records and handover documents.
• Assist with project scheduling, progress monitoring, risk identification and resolution of technical issues.
• Support quality assurance and health‑safety processes and ensure compliance with relevant standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant experience on mid‑rise to high‑rise building projects with a proven track record in site supervision and construction management.
• Strong technical knowledge of structural and enabling works, including shoring, dewatering, waterproofing, PT slabs and façade works.
• Familiarity with ARE roles, construction documentation, inspections, authority requirements and handover procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple site activities concurrently.
• Experience with BIM processes and construction coordination is an advantage.
