Assistant Subsea MUX Engineer

About the role

Stena Drilling is looking for an Assistant Subsea MUX Engineer to support the safe operation, maintenance and testing of electronic systems, controls and equipment on board vessels, including BOP MUX systems. The role also covers installation, testing and commissioning of new, refurbished or upgraded BOP MUX equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, test and troubleshoot electronic systems, controls and equipment for BOP MUX systems on board.
• Install, test, commission and accept new, refurbished or upgraded BOP MUX equipment on board.
• Assist with the assembly, operation, maintenance, testing and disconnection of the subsea blowout preventer, marine riser and related equipment.
• Ensure BOP MUX equipment meets the vessel's class and applicable API requirements.
• Maintain Level 2 procedures and keep Level 5 (RSWMs) up to date with current work practices and in line with SMS.
• Carry out software changes according to Stena software control procedures and modifications according to management of change procedures.
• Record all maintenance and modifications in the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system and keep its equipment details and procedures up to date.
• Investigate BOP MUX control system failures, identify root causes and take remedial action.
• Keep adequate spare parts for maintaining subsea BOP MUX equipment and inform the Senior Subsea Engineer of issues affecting reliability and availability.
• Take part in pre-job safety meetings with the relevant risk assessment, compile daily on-site progress reports and complete a documented end-of-tour handover.
• Perform any other duties requested by the Senior Subsea Engineer.

Required profile

• Industry-recognised engineering qualifications.
• Previous experience as an Electronics Technician working on subsea electronics in an offshore environment, such as ROV or BOP MUX systems.
