Assistant Underwriting Manager

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Underwriting Manager to join our Property, Casualty and Engineering team in the UAE. The role works closely with the Underwriting Manager to support new business and renewals while maintaining strong underwriting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite Property, Casualty and Engineering risks within delegated authority.
• Review and analyse underwriting information.
• Support new business and renewal enquiries.
• Supervise and develop the assigned operations team.
• Manage relationships with brokers, clients, insurers and reinsurers.
• Support reinsurance placements and treaty requirements.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with Claims, Finance, IT and Reinsurance teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree.
• 8 to 10 years of general insurance underwriting experience.
• Strong knowledge of Property and Casualty lines.
• Strong underwriting, negotiation and decision‑making skills.
• Ability to interpret treaty documents and policy wordings.
• ACII, Dip CII or FII qualification preferred.
