Assistant/Associate Professor – Food Chemistry & Analysis

About the role

The Department of Food Science at United Arab Emirates University seeks a full‑time Assistant or Associate Professor to lead teaching and research in food chemistry and analysis. The successful candidate will join a multicultural academic team, contribute to curriculum development, and build a competitive research programme.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in food chemistry, food analysis, and food biochemistry.
• Supervise graduate students and mentor junior researchers.
• Develop and maintain an internationally competitive research agenda, publish in peer‑reviewed journals, and secure external funding.
• Collaborate with UAEU researchers, government agencies, regulatory bodies, industry partners, and international institutions.
• Contribute to curriculum accreditation, departmental service, and laboratory safety and quality assurance.

Required profile

• PhD in Food Chemistry, Food Science, Analytical Chemistry applied to food systems, or a closely related field.
• Strong record of scholarly publications appropriate to the rank sought.
• Demonstrated ability to teach and supervise at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Expertise in food metabolomics and advanced food analysis.
• Hands‑on experience with LC‑MS/MS, GC‑MS, HRMS, NMR, HPLC/UHPLC, chromatography, spectroscopy.
• Proficiency in chemometrics, bioinformatics, and multi‑omics data interpretation.
