Assistant/Associate Professor in Accounting

About the role

The College of Business at Abu Dhabi University is seeking a full‑time faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Accounting. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, conduct high‑quality research, and contribute to the university’s academic and service missions.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in accounting and related disciplines.
• Develop and sustain a research agenda leading to publications in peer‑reviewed journals.
• Supervise student projects, internships, and theses.
• Contribute to curriculum development and continuous programme enhancement, ensuring alignment with accreditation standards and industry practices.
• Participate in departmental, college, and university committees and academic initiatives.
• Engage with the business and professional community to foster industry collaboration.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Accounting or a closely related field from an internationally recognised university.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching and a strong commitment to research.
• At least two years of teaching experience in accredited higher‑education institutions.
• Experience in curriculum development and innovative teaching practices.
• Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA are highly desirable.
• Professional proficiency in English (oral and written); Arabic is preferred.

Required skills

• Ability to integrate industry insights and emerging trends into curriculum design and classroom instruction.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Knowledge of accounting standards and practices.
