Assistant/Associate Professor – Physics (2 positions)

About the role

The American University of Ras Al Khaimah invites applications for two full‑time faculty positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Physics, starting August 2026. The successful candidates will join the School of Arts and Sciences, Department of Mathematics and Physics, and will be expected to deliver high‑impact teaching and develop an active research agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate physics laboratory courses, as well as introductory and general physics lectures.
• Design and implement innovative, student‑centered pedagogies that promote active learning.
• Establish and maintain a productive research program in physics.
• Contribute to departmental service, curriculum development, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Required profile

• Doctoral degree in Physics from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated ability to build and sustain a research program.
• University‑level teaching experience with a record of effective instruction.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
• Commitment to high‑impact educational practices and collaborative work.
