Associate Data Engineer

About the role

Al Tayer Insignia, a luxury retail group with boutiques, department stores and online platforms across the GCC, is hiring an Associate Data Engineer in Dubai. The role designs and builds new data pipelines and creates new data products for the group's omni-channel brands, ingesting data from sources such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Google Analytics, Firebase, Commerce Cloud and Service Cloud, as well as internal and external sources.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement ETL data pipelines that extract, transform and load data into the data warehouse.
• Maintain data integrity and data quality, reporting on a weekly or monthly basis.
• Create prototype products including machine learning models and basic frontends, supporting them end to end.
• Optimise pipelines for performance, scalability and reliability with large volumes of data.
• Use AWS Glue, AWS Data Pipeline and Amazon S3 to build data processing workflows and API gateways.
• Build interactive dashboards and visualisations with Tableau for business stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot data issues and implement solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or information technology.
• Minimum 4 years of experience; open mindset and eagerness to learn and experiment with data.
• Exposure to machine learning, NLP and large language models is an added advantage.

Required skills

• Python and SQL.
• Salesforce Commerce Cloud streaming and batch processing.
• Cloud computing on GCP and AWS.
• Data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Data Studio or Metabase.
• CI/CD tools such as Bitbucket, GitHub or GitLab.
• Basic understanding of ML concepts such as logistic regression, NLP and clustering.
