Associate Director - Commissioning Advisory

About the role

WSP is looking for an experienced Associate Director to lead its Commissioning Advisory practice across the Middle East. The role will drive the delivery of independent commissioning management, technical assurance and hand‑over advisory services for major building and infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Commissioning Advisory services team, defining vision, delivery standards and growth targets.
• Develop service offerings, go‑to‑market strategy and business plan for the practice within WSP’s Middle East Earth and Environment Advisory business.
• Integrate commissioning advisory into multidisciplinary WSP offerings and represent the firm as a subject‑matter expert at industry forums and client engagements.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the UAE, KSA and the wider region, preparing proposals, fee estimates and technical submissions.
• Take commercial ownership of projects, managing revenue forecasting, invoicing, cost control and margin protection.
• Mentor and develop commissioning managers, engineers and specialists, overseeing recruitment, capability building and succession planning.
• Contribute to thought leadership, white papers and regional commissioning strategy.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading commissioning advisory or similar services in the Middle East.
• Strong commercial acumen with responsibility for project financial performance.
• Ability to build strategic partnerships with contractors, developers, operators and technology providers.
• Excellent communication skills to represent WSP at industry forums and client meetings.
