Associate Director - Infrastructure

About the role

Turner & Townsend is looking for an Associate Director - Infrastructure to lead the delivery of complex infrastructure projects and programmes across Abu Dhabi and the wider UAE. The role covers strategic leadership, client relationship management, commercial oversight and multidisciplinary project delivery across sectors such as transportation, utilities, roads and highways, rail, aviation, ports, water, energy and urban development.

Key responsibilities

• Lead project teams and act as a trusted advisor to clients, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, sustainably and in line with client objectives and government regulations.
• Manage multiple disciplines, teams, advisors and clients across the project lifecycle, ideally across different sectors and clients.
• Set strategy, challenge assumptions and manage performance against high standards, using people and resources efficiently.
• Lead and be accountable for the health, safety and wellbeing of those in your sphere of responsibility.
• Apply a practical understanding of CDM across teams, anticipate client challenges and foster inclusive teamwork and client partnerships.
• Coach and mentor others, promote inclusive environments and build long-term trusted advisor relationships with clients.

Required profile

• 15+ years of progressive experience in infrastructure project or programme management.
• Proven experience delivering major infrastructure developments in the UAE or GCC, and on Abu Dhabi government projects.
• Experience managing large multidisciplinary project teams and external consultants, and complex stakeholder environments including government entities and utility authorities.
• Experience in transportation, rail, aviation, utilities, energy, water or smart city developments, and consultancy and client-side project management.
• Demonstrated success in client relationship management and business development.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of infrastructure planning, design, procurement, construction and handover processes.
• Project controls, risk management, governance and reporting.
• Experience administering and managing FIDIC contracts and major infrastructure procurement strategies.
• Knowledge of CDM.
