Associate Lighting Designer

About the role

The client, a leading lighting design specialist, is looking for an Associate Lighting Designer to join their Dubai team. This hands‑on leadership role combines design direction, team management, client engagement and commercial oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Lead concept development and deliver innovative lighting solutions while maintaining design quality and sustainability standards.
• Manage and mentor designers, conduct regular one‑to‑ones, provide feedback and oversee workload planning.
• Oversee project delivery, resource planning and health‑and‑safety compliance, acting as the senior point of contact for clients.
• Drive commercial performance by monitoring profitability, invoicing milestones and managing scope changes.
• Build and nurture relationships with architects, interior designers, MEP consultants, developers and manufacturers.

Required profile

• Degree in Lighting Design, Architecture, Interior Design, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• At least five years of experience in architectural lighting design, preferably within a specialist consultancy or lighting supplier.
• Proven track record delivering projects from concept through detailed design and site implementation.
• Strong client‑facing, organisational and commercial skills, with experience managing or mentoring designers.
• Knowledge of UAE regulations and regional project delivery is preferred; GCC experience highly desirable.
