Associate Professor in Clinical Psychology

About the role

City University Ajman is seeking a qualified, dedicated Associate Professor in Clinical Psychology to join the College of Humanities. The role covers undergraduate teaching, field training supervision, academic research and accreditation compliance, and supports the university's plan to launch a postgraduate Master's Program in Clinical Psychology.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality undergraduate courses in core clinical and general psychology areas
• Supervise student graduation projects and oversee clinical field training placements
• Maintain an active research agenda, publish high-impact scholarly work and apply quantitative and qualitative methods to advance mental health scholarship
• Contribute to curriculum and program design for the planned Master's Program, including research supervision frameworks
• Support academic quality assurance, institutional reviews and CAA accreditation requirements for the Psychology program
• Help build partnerships with healthcare centers and local institutions to strengthen clinical training and community mental health initiatives

Required profile

• PhD in Clinical Psychology or Health Psychology from an accredited, recognized university
• Demonstrated expertise in psychological assessment, diagnosis and evidence-based interventions, with a strong focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
• Track record of successful university-level teaching and field training supervision
• Relevant scholarly research publications

Preferred qualifications

• Valid clinical license (or immediate eligibility) from UAE health authorities (MOHAP, DHA or DoH) with practical clinical experience
• Experience with institutional accreditation frameworks and postgraduate curriculum design
