Associate Urban Planner – Dubai

About the role

AECOM is seeking a detail‑oriented Associate in Urban Planning to support the development and implementation of urban initiatives in Dubai. You will work closely with senior planners, government agencies, and community stakeholders to shape sustainable, inclusive growth for the city.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in analyzing urban development proposals, zoning applications, and land‑use plans.
• Conduct research on demographic trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for internal and external audiences.
• Utilize GIS software and CAD tools to create and analyze maps, site plans, and visualizations.
• Support community engagement activities and stakeholder consultations.
• Review compliance with local zoning regulations, building codes, and Dubai’s planning framework.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and government officials on integrated planning projects.
• Maintain organized project files, databases, and documentation.
• Contribute to planning strategies that promote sustainable and inclusive urban growth.
• Monitor project timelines and deliverables to ensure on‑time completion.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Town Planning, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of professional urban planning experience, preferably within a planning consultancy.

Required skills

• Proficiency with GIS software.
• Proficiency with CAD tools.
