Associate Vice President & Solution Architect

About the role

The Associate Vice President & Solution Architect will drive Rak Bank’s strategic initiatives and architectural vision for its core banking platform. This senior position requires deep technical expertise, strong leadership, and a thorough understanding of both conventional and Islamic banking practices in the UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end solution architecture for the Finacle core banking platform, translating business, product and regulatory requirements into scalable designs.
• Define and govern target architecture for core modules such as Customer Information File, Loans & Liabilities, General Ledger, Value‑Added Modules and Liquidity Solutions.
• Design integration patterns and interfaces between Finacle and surrounding applications (digital channels, payments, CRM, risk, compliance, data warehouse) using APIs, messaging and file‑based interfaces.
• Lead solution design for customisations, extensions and upgrades, balancing standard product capability with bespoke development.
• Assess UAE and regional regulatory requirements and embed compliance into core banking designs.
• Partner with business, delivery and vendor teams to define implementation roadmaps for upgrades, migrations and green‑field projects.
• Conduct architecture reviews, impact assessments and technical risk analyses for changes to the core ecosystem.
• Mentor solution and technical teams, acting as the go‑to authority on core banking architecture.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in Banking and Financial Services technology, with a strong focus on core banking.
• Deep product knowledge of core modules (CIF, Loans & Liabilities, GL, VAM, Liquidity Solutions) and core banking frameworks (EOD processing, batch scheduling, cross‑application handoffs).
• Hands‑on experience customizing and scripting on the Finacle platform.
• Proven experience integrating core banking systems with channels, payments, CRM, risk and compliance solutions via APIs and middleware.
• UAE banking experience covering conventional and Islamic banking across corporate, SME and retail lines.
• Strong understanding of UAE and regional regulatory requirements affecting core banking operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or a related discipline.
