Associate/Principal Electrical Design Engineer – Data Centres & Mission Critical

About the role

WSP in the Middle East is hiring an Associate / Principal Electrical Design Engineer – Data Centres & Mission Critical to lead multidisciplinary design, advisory, and delivery of mission‑critical data centre projects across the region. The role oversees client engagement, project strategy, technical excellence, and team leadership while ensuring solutions meet global standards for resilience, sustainability, and scalability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design, integration, and delivery of electrical and MEP systems for mission‑critical data centre projects.
• Provide technical governance by reviewing and approving engineering deliverables aligned with global standards and client requirements.
• Drive development of modular, cloud, colocation, and hyperscale data centre solutions.
• Act as primary client interface, building trusted advisory relationships across key accounts.
• Lead technical workshops, design reviews, and senior stakeholder presentations.
• Own project strategy from concept to execution, ensuring delivery excellence.
• Lead business development activities, including bid leadership and proposal strategy.
• Mentor and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams and oversee resource planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred).
• 12+ years of experience in mission‑critical/data centre design, delivery, or advisory.
• Strong understanding of Tier standards, NFPA, ASHRAE, and Uptime Institute guidelines.
• Proven experience working in GCC markets (UAE and/or KSA) and with large consultancies.
