Audit Manager – Customs Operations

About the role

The Government’s Industry Department in Dubai is seeking an Internal Audit Manager to lead audits of customs operations. The role involves developing audit plans, executing engagements, and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and regulatory requirements. The manager will also contribute to the development of the department’s strategy and operational plans.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement comprehensive audit programs for customs operations.
• Lead and oversee audit engagements, assessing compliance, performance and alignment with government priorities.
• Prepare and present audit reports, highlighting findings, risks and recommendations.
• Monitor corrective actions and report progress in collaboration with relevant departments.
• Develop industry‑related research, thought leadership and market insights.
• Stay updated on local and international customs regulations and advise on compliance strategies.
• Coach and develop audit team members, providing training and skill development.
• Evaluate impact of regulatory changes on the audit plan and adjust scope accordingly.
• Establish strategic partnerships and manage stakeholder engagements to optimize audit outcomes.

Required profile

• Relevant degree in finance, accounting or a related field.
• Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, CIA or CFA.
• Proven experience in internal audit management, preferably within customs or industry sectors.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex audits and drive continuous improvement.
