Audit Supervisor

About the role

The Audit Supervisor will be responsible for planning, executing, supervising and completing audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of UAE clients. The role requires strong practical knowledge of International Standards on Auditing (ISAs), IFRS and UAE regulatory requirements, as well as the ability to manage multiple engagements, supervise junior team members and communicate effectively with clients and senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and supervise statutory and other audit engagements from commencement through completion.
• Develop audit plans, perform risk assessments and determine appropriate audit procedures based on engagement risks and materiality.
• Evaluate internal controls, accounting processes and financial reporting systems, identifying control deficiencies.
• Review financial statements and disclosures for compliance with IFRS and applicable UAE requirements.
• Supervise, coach and review the work of junior auditors and other engagement team members.
• Manage audit timelines, budgets, deliverables and client information requirements.
• Prepare and review management letters, audit findings and recommendations.
• Liaise directly with clients’ finance teams, management and other stakeholders throughout the engagement.

Required profile

• ACCA Affiliate, ACCA Member or equivalent internationally recognised professional accounting qualification.
• Approximately 4–6 years of external audit experience within a professional audit firm, including 1–2 years supervising audit engagements.
• UAE audit experience and experience managing audits of SMEs and owner‑managed businesses is a strong advantage.

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of IFRS.
• Practical application of International Standards on Auditing (ISAs).
• Audit risk assessment, materiality, sampling and substantive audit procedures.
• Financial statement preparation and review.
• Familiarity with UAE Corporate Tax and VAT.
• Experience with audit software and cloud‑based accounting platforms.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and general IT skills.
