AutoCAD Steel Structural Draftsman – Sharjah

About the role

We are looking for an experienced AutoCAD Steel Structural Draftsman with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience to join our team in Sharjah, UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed steel structural shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and erection drawings using AutoCAD.
• Interpret architectural, structural, and engineering drawings and convert design requirements into accurate fabrication details.
• Prepare plans, elevations, sections, connection details, material details, and fabrication drawings for steel structures.
• Coordinate with structural engineers, project managers, fabrication teams, and site teams to ensure drawings meet project requirements.
• Review design drawings and identify discrepancies or missing information before fabrication.
• Update drawings based on design revisions, site requirements, and engineering comments.
• Provide technical support to fabrication and site teams and resolve drawing‑related queries.
• Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, applicable standards, and approved designs.
• Prepare detailed drawings for structural steel members, beams, columns, plates, connections, stairs, handrails, platforms, and other steel components.
• Maintain proper drawing numbering, revision control, and documentation.
• Coordinate with the fabrication team to ensure drawings are practical and suitable for manufacturing and erection.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in AutoCAD drafting, preferably in structural steel fabrication and construction.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Drafting, or a related field (preferred).
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Good knowledge of steel structural shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and erection drawings.
• Ability to read and interpret structural, architectural, and engineering drawings.
• Understanding of steel fabrication, connections, detailing, and erection processes.
• Experience with Tekla Structures, Revit, or other BIM/detailing software (advantage).
• Knowledge of structural steel sections, plates, bolts, welds, connections, and fabrication methods.
• Familiarity with relevant engineering standards and project specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Previous experience in the UAE steel fabrication or construction industry (preferred).
