AV Technician

About the role

The AV Technician is responsible for setting up, operating and maintaining audio‑visual, projection, lighting and conferencing equipment for banquet and meeting rooms at the hotel.

Key responsibilities

• Set‑up, operate and troubleshoot all AV, projection, lighting and conferencing equipment and systems.
• Oversee AV equipment installation in banquet and meeting rooms and verify set‑up against the Banquet Event Order.
• Repair, clean, label broken equipment and manage loose wires and cables.
• Communicate equipment issues and any changes to flowsheets with the manager or supervisor.
• Assist guests with equipment usage, promote additional AV services and monitor equipment performance.
• Break down, remove and secure equipment after events and follow Marriott Visual Productions SOPs.
• Follow safety and security policies, maintain a professional appearance and protect company assets.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least one year of related AV equipment experience.
• No supervisory experience required.

Required skills

• AV equipment setup and operation.
• Troubleshooting of AV, projection, lighting and conferencing systems.
• Cable management and labeling.
• Reading and applying SOP documentation.
