Backend Developer (Node.js / NestJS)

About the role

Midis Group is hiring a Full-Stack Backend Developer in Dubai. You will design, develop and maintain scalable, high-performance backend systems and APIs, working mainly with Node.js and NestJS, with .NET experience as an added advantage for enterprise and legacy system integration. You will collaborate with frontend developers, architects, DevOps engineers and business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services with Node.js and NestJS, building modular and scalable server-side architectures.
• Design, implement and maintain RESTful APIs (and GraphQL where applicable), keeping them secure, performant, documented and versioned.
• Design and optimise relational and NoSQL databases, write efficient queries, indexes and migrations, and ensure data consistency and performance.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and apply caching, async processing and other optimisation techniques.
• Integrate with existing .NET / ASP.NET Core services and support hybrid environments where Node.js and .NET coexist.
• Implement authentication and authorisation (JWT, OAuth, RBAC) and apply security best practices.
• Write unit, integration and API tests, take part in automated testing, debug issues and support production problems.
• Work with Git, Azure DevOps and GitHub, contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
• Take part in code reviews, maintain technical documentation and work with frontend developers (e.g. React), QA and business teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience developing backend systems with Node.js and NestJS.
• Experience integrating with frontend code (React or similar) from a backend perspective.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills.
