Backend Engineer – AI-Driven Development (CTRM Platform)

About the role

We are building a new Commodity Trading & Risk Management (CTRM) platform for a physical oil‑products trader. The product is developed using AI‑driven coding agents, and the engineer is responsible for ensuring the generated code meets architectural, functional and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design services, data models, APIs and transactional boundaries from specified requirements.
• Translate requirements into concise, agent‑executable task briefs.
• Own and evolve the project’s agent context, coding conventions and test policies.
• Review every code diff for correctness, security, performance and financial semantics.
• Write and maintain comprehensive tests, especially around money, rounding, dates and state machines.
• Refactor generated code to fit system‑wide behavior and ship in two‑week sprints.

Required profile

• 7+ years building and operating production backend systems.
• Hands‑on experience with AI‑driven development as the primary workflow.
• Strong ability to read, debug and reason about unfamiliar codebases.
• Willingness to engage with complex financial and logistics logic.
• Business proficiency in Russian language.
