Backend Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join Sarwa’s remote‑first tech team. You will help build and evolve the platform that enables thousands of users to manage their investments and personal finances.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain micro‑service APIs that support investing, trading, account management and funding.
• Implement data pipelines, caching and security layers to ensure high performance and reliability.
• Integrate third‑party services and create domain logic for new product features.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery of software projects, collaborating with product, marketing, operations and sales teams.
• Write clean, maintainable code and contribute to architectural decisions that scale to tens of thousands of clients.

Required profile

• Strong experience building production‑grade backend systems with Python or Go and a modern framework (e.g., Django, GoLang.Net, Laravel, Rails).
• Solid understanding of databases, APIs, caching, security practices and scalability.
• Familiarity with micro‑services, domain‑driven design, clean architecture and event sourcing is a plus.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication and teamwork skills.
• Proven ownership of projects from inception to production.
